Located in Dalwhinnie, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, 2 Station Cottage offers luxury self catering accommodation with outstanding views to the Cairngorm Mountains. 2 Station cottage was fully refurbished in 2015 and taking a year to complete. The cottage was once a home to railway workers.
The small village of Dalwhinnie is situated north-east end of Loch Ericht, at the head of Glen Truim. The village name means 'meeting place' where local land owners traditionally brought sheep to sell. This still takes place to this day, for one week each year the farmers bring their sheep to get sheared, it really is a sight to watch.
The area is walking destination along the River Truim and in Cairngorm and Monadhliath Mountains in the Cairngorm National Park. Dalwhinnie is on the Sustrans National Cycle Route No. 7, Glasgow to Inverness. There are several cycle routes in the area including one alongside Loch Ericht.
The local distillery is on our doorstep and has the title of being the highest-elevation working Distillery in Scotland, Dalwhinnie Single Malt is a light heathery whisky.
Following an announcement from the Scottish Government, we are now open for arrivals from Friday 3rd July 2020. The cottage will undergo a deep clean after each guest has left, so you can be confident your stay with us will be safe as well as enjoyable. Dalwhinnie is located in a rural part of the Cairngorms. Dalwhinnie is one of the highest villages in Scotland, with an award winning Distillery on its doorstep a 5 min walk from the house.
There is no shortages of places to visit and things to do in this area of the Highlands. Many activities in the immediate area include golf, walking, mountain biking, watersports, fishing and shooting.
